Junior Roundup from the Weekend (30/31st March)

The latest update from the Juniors

On a sunny pitch prefect morning U12 Whites welcomed Ipswich Athletic for our last match of the season.

First half KO with both teams evenly balanced with only 3 chances falling our way with Archie Dunne hitting the crossbar then the post and Oscar smashing a great effort also against the crossbar. H/T 0-0

10 minutes into the 2nd half Ipswich Athletic took the lead with a shot from outside of the box after we fell asleep and poor clearance but our boys stuck to it and continued the press forward and were soon rewarded with a penalty which Archie tucked away nicely and soon we were 2-1 up with only 5 minutes left after a poor goal kick saw Archies left foot shot hit the back of the net. F/T 2-1

Ipswich Athletic praised our clubs set-up and lovely pitch condition

The Under 11's Reds welcomed Hadleigh to a sunny Delwood Ave. The match started strongly for Felixstowe but Hadleigh took the lead against the the run of play. The boys responded well and got the equaliser from a looping shot by Cameron but unfortunately this didn't last long as Hadleigh took the lead once again. HT 1-2.

The lads started the 2nd half slowly but built some pressure but again Hadleigh caught us sleeping to make it 3-1. Felixstowe never gave up and reduced the arrears to 3-2 through Teddy to make it a nervous finish but unfortunately we ran out of time. Final score 3-2 Hadleigh. MOTM Cameron for a tireless effort. Hadleigh was a very well organised team and commented on what a pleasure it was to play us and visit our ground.

U15s home to Framlingham. The day started with us not knowing if we would even have enough numbers. In the end the boys turned up with colds or just recovering from injury so unable to play a full half. The first 20 mins saw us hold our own against a very strong squad with plenty of subs. We saw out the first 0-2 to Framlingham. The second half we struggled with players with plenty of rotation and again saw the boys dig in and give it everything. We pulled a goal back, missed chances. The game finished 1-4. Very proud of our team. Looking forward to a fit squad next Saturday

U15 EJA away at a very strong Sudbury (on a winning streak since the 2nd game of the season). Lack of players due to injuries, illness and possibly the early 10am ko after the clocks changing? meant our squad of 19 was depleted to 13 with key players missing. That said it took us until the last 20 mins to actually start stringing some passes together and we actually looked very good for that period but still conceded goals. Another positive was the performance of our new signing Harry Veitch who showed some real quality. Hopefully we can take the last 20 mins performance into another long away trip to St Ives next week.

Under 10 girls 4v4 festival at Felixstowe

We had 2 teams entered on Saturday 30th March. Both teams really enjoyed themselves and played good fast football at times. What a treat for all the mums on their special day.

The white team coming away with 3 draws and 3 defeats goals from Katie x2 and Lily x3. The reds 5 wins and 1 defeat in the last game to a very unfortunate own goal straight from a corner. Goals Lula x1, Cailey x2 and Faith x3.
