Saxmundham Sports U14 0 v 1 Seasiders U14 Red

Just 11 players available to Jason and Simon this weekend, so the team rather picked itself.

With the chasing pack regularly picking up points The Seasiders were under a little pressure to secure a maximum return from this mornings encounter at The Carlton Park Sports Ground.

Despite their mid table position, Saxmundham proved to be strong opponents and many good individual battles were evident all over the ¾ sized pitch.

Felixstowe had the lions share of the possession, but a well organised Saxmundham defence restricted our first half opportunities, and it took a speculative long range shot from captain Seb to give us the lead, as the keeper could only get his finger tips to it, and help it into the net.

H.T. 1-0

The second half saw us kicking with the slight downhill slope, and continuing to battle for the right to play our attacking football.

We went very close to increasing our lead on several occasions, but just couldn’t quite make our chances count.

F.T. 1-0.

A hard earned victory for the U14 Reds, maintaining their lead at the top of the Div 2 table.

All 11 players can be pleased with their efforts, but, when pressed, Coach Jason picked out Ellen for his MOM award. Well deserved.

Many Thanks to our generous team sponsors UKCS Limited.
