Weekend Updates

Football news roundup from the Juniors
The final weekend of September brought a hatful of goals as the Seasiders Junior sides continued their development, none more so than the Under 8’s! The Reds were 12-5 winners over Coplestonians Lions before the Whites narrowly went down to Coplestonians Tigers 4-3.

A late, late equaliser thwarted the Under 11 whites attempt to record a derby victory over Trimley, in the end having to settle for a 3-3 draw, but there was no luck for the Under 11 reds who were beaten 5-1 by Witnesham Wasps despite a goal from MOTM Jake.

A hat-trick from Archie Dunne helped the Under 12 whites record a fine 4-1 over Brantham Imps, with Brandon Turk also on the scoresheet.

The Under 14 Whites went down 5-2 in a friendly to Coplestonians Tigers. It was a promising performance from the side, but ultimately injuries took their toll with low squad numbers available.

There was better fortune for the Under 14 Reds, beating Ipswich Phoenix 6-3. There was a brace each for O’Callaghan and Teye-Botchway. A strike from Ryan and an OG completed the scoring.

The Under 15’s stay top at this early stage of the season. Goals from Zak, Diego and Kirk led them to a 3-1 win.

On Sunday, the Under 15 EJA side had a weekend off due to a bye in the challenge cup but the Under 14 Girls were in friendly action against Stowupland. With 5 first teamers missing, there was call ups for Erika and Rihanna from the U13’s and Rose from the U12’s and they fitted in very well, helping the side to a 5-3 victory. Erika celebrated her call up with a hat trick, with Rose and Holly also scoring.

There’s a full schedule of Junior action next weekend with several sides in cup action.

It’s also a big day for the Under 7’s who entertain Benhall in their first ever friendly. The boys would love as much support as possible. Kick off at Dellwood Avenue is at 10am.
